It's amazing how many people don't ever carry cash these days or that prefer to pay with credit cards to built their scores. By accepting credit cards, small businesses dramatically increase their sales as a result of offering multiple payment options to customers who do not prefer cash transactions.

  31. As a small business owner, I know it is EXTREMELY important to accept credit cards. In todays society, very few people carry cash. And many clients dont like writing checks in fear of them not being cashed quickly. By accepting cc, theyre payment is quick and comes instantly out of their account. And as a business owner, it protects us bc we know instantly if their cc is approved as opposed to taking a check that could potentially bounce. Amber. Amberdeloof@gmail.com

  32. I think its important for small businesses to accept credit cards because there are less fees for them, than checks that bounce for instance, better chance of more business from non-cash carrying customers, and the possibility of higher spending limits for customers who may limit themselves with cash, meaning more revenue!

  37. Small Businesses need to accept credit cards, because lots of people like me don't carry cash or checks anymore! If you lose cash, its not replaceable, and why would you want to give a stranger a little piece of paper with your bank account number on it? It's so 19th century. 38. I think its very improtant because now a days the only type of payment being carried in a purse or wallet is a credit card. We have become used to the fact of simplicity and swiping a card without digging for change or looking for a pen to write that check. When any business excepts credit cards, those are who I tend to visit the most.

  39. It's important for small businesses to accept credit cards because that's how people want to pay. Several nail salons have lost my business because they only accepted cash and I didn't want to make the extra trip to the bank to pull out cash. 40. It is very important for small businesses to accep tcredit cards. It is a great advantage to both the business owner and the consumer. It allows the consumer an opportunity to purchase that they would not have if they had to have cash or money in their checking account. the owner benefits with the quick payment, and customers would purchase more items in each order so sales will increase.

  41. It's important for small businesses to take credit cards because I find alot of people don't carry all that much cash anymore these days. A credit or debit card is easier than cash to keep track of from a customer's perspective, since you don't have to fumble around with cash or worry about leaving your checkbook somewhere. ereuter1983@yahoo.com - Erin Mitchell

  42. When a small business accepts credit cards, it is convenient to the seller and consumer. A small business doesn't have to hassle with checks, etc. when accepting credit cards. The transaction is hassle free and instant when using credit cards. The seller knows immediately if the sale is good or bad after a credit card authorization and doesn't have to wait for last minute surprises with insufficient funds. The consumer also gets the product shipped quicker with a credit card; in addition, the seller can make a quick profit immediately and not have to wait for a check in the mail, etc. The bottom line: In my opinion, I see more transactions made using a credit card. This makes record keeping easier for the seller & buyer. In today's society, cash is used less because credit cards are safer to carry because of the limited liability to the cardholder.

It is the only form of payment that is safe to carry these days and a small business would not survive without accepting credit and debit cards cause in today's economy people have no choice but to survive in this way. I personally think that no one should carry cash cause it is much safer if people know that if need be they can get the credit card cancelled and still have the money intact bit once cash is stolen it is gone with no chance of it coming back.

  46. It is important for small businesses to accept credit cards because by accepting credit cards, they can draw in more continued customers. I've seen a lot of people be turned off by the fact that the store doesn't accept a credit card and they feel that the store is hassling them in a way. It's also important because they will likely bring more sales in as people very rarely carry any sort of cash these days. A lot of people also use credit cards for big purchases when they may not have the money up front, so small businesses can increase the number of big purchases by allowing credit card purchases. They can also expand to having their business online by having credit card capablities.
